What the SEO MCP server does
An SEO toolkit your AI agent can operate on its own.

The Crawl Foundry SEO MCP server closes that gap through the Model Context Protocol, the open standard agents use to call external tools.
Once connected, your agent can use Crawl Foundry data and tools for keyword research with search volume and difficulty, rank tracking, site audits, competitor and backlink analysis, AI visibility, SEO plans, and writing, scoring and optimizing content. Every answer rests on saved evidence from your workspace or on fresh measurements, and data gaps are named instead of papered over.
That turns a chat into an SEO workstation. You ask in plain language, the agent picks the right tools, stays in exactly one workspace and keeps to your budget and approvals.
For content, the agent can create a new article or start with one you already have. It can import your article, score it, ask for a priced deep check and suggestions, then preview, apply, compare or restore revisions. What is an SEO MCP server?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI agents use tools and data from other services. An SEO MCP server gives the agent access to SEO data and SEO actions. At Crawl Foundry, that means the keywords, rankings, audits and content in your workspace.
Which SEO tasks can my agent handle through the MCP server?
Researching and organizing keywords, analyzing rankings and competitors, starting and reviewing site audits, checking backlinks and AI visibility, building SEO plans, and writing, scoring, optimizing and internally linking content. It can only publish once you explicitly approve it.
Do I need an API key?
Not for MCP. The standard connection uses OAuth, so you sign in instead of copying a key. API keys are for your own automation over the REST API.
What is the difference between the SEO MCP server and the SEO REST API?
The MCP server is built for AI agents: you sign in with OAuth and the agent picks the right tools itself. The SEO REST API is meant for your own software and automation and works with API keys that admins create. Both use the same balance and cost classes.
Does it work on the free plan?
Yes. The MCP server is included on every plan. The free plan comes with 3 workspaces and €1.00 of balance a month, and reading saved data costs nothing.
I manage many clients. How does the agent keep workspaces apart?
Every session works in exactly one workspace, which the agent confirms before it starts. Grants and budgets apply per workspace. Above 25 workspaces, you use a workspace-specific address.
My tool is not listed. Can I still connect?
Yes, if it supports MCP over Streamable HTTP. Paste the MCP address into its connection settings and sign in when it asks.
